For $99 or less each way, based on roundtrip purchase, travelers can go from Los Angeles to Providence, Orlando to Portland, Baltimore/Washington to Oakland, San Diego to Las Vegas, or Chicago to Phoenix, just to name a few.

"With fares this low, taking a short hop to visit friends and family or criss-crossing the country has never been easier," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's vice president of marketing. "Southwest serves 52 cities, and with more than 2,300 flights a day to choose from, Customers can take their pick of attractive destinations."

The following examples are based on roundtrip purchase: Baltimore/Washington to Manchester for $39 each way; Phoenix to Las Vegas for $39 each way; Kansas City to Orlando for $99 each way; Nashville to San Diego for $99 each way; Providence to Kansas City for $99 each way; Houston to New Orleans for $49 each way; and Kansas City to Los Angeles for $99 each way.

These fares are available for purchase until July 23, with travel good from Aug.18 through Dec. 6, 1998. At least a one-night stayover is required. Tickets must be purchased within one day of making a reservation. While tickets are nonrefundable, they may, if unused, be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Seats are limited and will not be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times such as the Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day holiday periods.

Fares do not include airport-assessed taxes of up to $12 roundtrip.
