Houston Hobby Operations

Southwest Airlines flights to/from Houston Hobby (HOU) have currently been suspended through Noon on Saturday, Sept. 2, as we continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Harvey and its impact on the Houston area. Southwest flew to Dallas Love Field on Sunday nearly 500 people who were in or near the HOU airport when a significant band of rain came through, preventing continued operations. Southwest on Monday moved any remaining aircraft and some Employees, both Southwest and other airlines, from HOU by the end of the day.

Due to the disruptions, we encourage Customers to check their flight status via southwest.com or our mobile app prior to heading to the airport. A Customer travel advisory offering added flexibility to flight changes for Austin, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio is in effect through Friday, September 1; New Orleans is in effect through Tuesday, September 5; and Houston is in effect through Tuesday, September 12. As always, our main focus is the safety of our Customers and Employees while making sure our flights operate safely to their destinations. We appreciate our Customers' patience as we continue to work through the impact of this storm.

We are in contact with emergency management officials and have offered our assistance. Our hearts are with our Customers and Employees in South Texas affected by the hurricane and subsequent flooding. Please consider making a donation to the American Red Cross by visiting their website, http://www.redcross.org. You can also donate Rapid Rewards points to our partner organizations by visiting southwest.com/donate. Points donations can enable relief workers and volunteers to travel to areas in need.

We will continue monitoring weather conditions in South Texas and provide updates as new information becomes available.
