Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways are currently operating a full schedule across the entire network. This includes operations at New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark Liberty Intl Airport (EWR).
Southwest canceled a total of just more than 1350 flights from Sunday evening through midday Wednesday.
AirTran Airways has canceled a total of 400 flights from Sunday evening through midday Wednesday.

Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways are operating across most of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic by this midday, with the exception of the two airports the carriers serve in the metropolitan New York City area: New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark Liberty Intl Airport (EWR). Neither Southwest nor AirTran are operating any flights to/from LaGuardia or Newark on Wednesday, October 31.

Out ahead of the projected landfall of Hurricane Sandy, Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways have canceled operations on Monday at a total of ten airports in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic US. Customers are being contacted and offered options to change their travel plans. Click the links at the bottom of this statement for the most up-to-date Customer policies.
Southwest has canceled a total of 58 flights (less than two percent of the published schedule) on Sunday evening, mainly the last inbound flights in the affected airports. Similarly, AirTran Airways has canceled 23 flights (four percent of the published schedule) Sunday evening. These are final numbers for Sunday.
On Monday, Southwest Airlines was scheduled to operate more than 3200 flights across the Country and now projects to have canceled more than 550 of those departures. AirTran Airways projects to have canceled more than 180 departures out of a published systemwide flight schedule of nearly 600 flights on Monday.
