JOB DESCRIPTION: Steve is responsible for Pre-Ops, Day of Ops, and Post-Operations and he is responsible for the build out of Pre-Ops that will focus on prioritizing predictive capabilities and designing proactive processes. Steve also oversees NOC Sector Leadership over Chiefs of Network, Superintendents of Dispatch, Filfo and Customer Service Coordinator Teams.
EXPERIENCE: In 1979, Steve was one of the original FLIFO agents. He joined the Dispatch Department in 1983 and served as a Superintendent, Chief Dispatcher and Director of Dispatch. In 2005, Steve became Sr. Director of Ontime Performance and was promoted to Managing Director of Operational Performance in 2016.

LENGTH OF SERVICE AT SOUTHWEST: Started working for Southwest in January 16, 1979. It's been 37 very short years!
FAMILY: Steve and his wife, Tammy, have four kids: Kristi, Jason, Corey and Samantha and three grandkids, Addison, Lainie and Tylan.
FIRST PAYING JOB: At 13, I worked at Sims Drive-In, a country store owned by my uncle. I stocked shelves and peeled bad lettuce leaves off produce. It was very exciting.
PROUDEST MOMENT: The good thing about proud moments is that they can keep coming, which helps replace the moments you forget when getting older J. Becoming a grandparent to my 3 grandchildren makes me very proud.
BEST ADVICE EVER RECEIVED: Don't dwell on the wreckage!
