Vice President Corporate Planning and FP&A
Paul Cullen serves as Vice President Corporate Planning and FP&A at Southwest Airlines. In this position, Paul provides executive leadership to the Financial Planning, Financial Analysis, and Corporate Planning Departments. Paul's key responsibilities include ensuring that our Business Plan remains under budget and in alignment with our major Company initiatives, evaluating current and future trends and opportunities, providing industry and economic analysis, profitability and optimization assessments, and other cross-functional analyses that enable Southwest to fulfill its Vision to become the world's most loved, most admired, and most flown airline.
With more than ten years of experience with Southwest Airlines, Paul has served in a series of progressive leadership roles within the Finance and Planning departments. Paul and his Teams have helped support the transformation of Southwest Airlines through a number of strategic initiatives, including the acquisition of AirTran Airways and the launch of international service—all while preserving the Company's commitment to remain the nation's Low Fare leader.
Southwest Airlines is celebrating 43 years of consecutive profitability and was named "Airline of the Year" by Air Transport World in 2015. Southwest (NYSE: LUV) was the number one stock performer of the S&P 500 in 2014, and the nation's leading low-cost carrier has consistently received the lowest ratio of Customer Complaints to the Department of Transportation (DOT) since they began tracking Customer Satisfaction.
Prior to joining Southwest Airlines, Paul has gained experience at JetBlue, Sabre, and PepsiCo.
Paul received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northwestern State University and is a Certified Management Accountant. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Paul now lives in Lewisville, TX with his wife and three children.
