Matt serves as the Vice President Network Operations Control (NOC) at Southwest Airlines. In his role, Matt oversees the world-class operations center that functions as the "heart" for major operational decisions and operates 24/7 to keep the airline running. Consistently providing a safe and reliable operation is a shared goal for Matt and NOC Employees. With more than 700 Employees, the NOC is home to Employees in Dispatch, Maintenance, Flight Operations, Inflight, Ground Operations, Meteorology, Customer Support & Services (CS&S), Corporate Communications, and Proactive Customer Service (PCS).
Matt's Southwest Airlines career began in 1988 when he started as a Ramp Agent. After serving in a variety of Ground Operations Leadership roles, including Vice President Ground Operations, Matt transitioned to Vice President Integrated Operations to oversee the successful integration of AirTran Airways' operation into Southwest's. Matt became Vice President NOC in 2012.
Matt has one daughter, CJ, and three grandchildren—Brayton, Bowen, and Bayler Rose. In his spare time, Matt and his wife Mallory, enjoy reading and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.
