JOB DESCRIPTION: Ken provides strategic oversight for the payroll, accounts payable, and tax functions. Responsible for developing Southwest's operational strategy of disbursements to Employees and vendors in addition to administering Southwest’s tax matters, ensuring they are in compliance with federal, state, local, and foreign laws.

EXPERIENCE: Prior to joining Southwest, Ken worked for Comerica Bank as Chief Tax Officer for seven years. He held the position of Tax Director–Financial Reporting and Planning at TXU Corp for three years. His career began as an Intern at Ernst & Young, where he progressed to a Senior Manager during his 10 years of service.

EDUCATION: B.S. Accounting and M.S. Taxation, University of North Texas

FAMILY: Wife Kristin and son Trey

FIRST PAYING JOB: Warehouse worker in the food distribution center of Waffle House

PROUDEST MOMENT: I am eternally proud of the achievements of my son, but none of those could have happened had I not married my wife. So the day we married is my proudest moment.
