Ron Ricks is the Executive Vice President—Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer at Southwest Airlines in Dallas, Texas. Before joining Southwest Airlines, Ron was a partner in the San Antonio law firm founded by Herb Kelleher, where Ron worked extensively on the Southwest Airlines' account. All together, Ron has represented Southwest since 1981.

His responsibilities include oversight of the following corporate departments: General Counsel (Legal); Airport Affairs (corporate
real estate and airport business relationships); and Governmental and Regulatory Affairs; In addition, Ron is closely involved with all aspects of labor law issues as they pertain to Southwest’s relationships with its largely unionized work force.

Presently, Ron serves on the Methodist Health System Board of Directors and is a member of the Board’s Corporate Oversight Committee. The Methodist Health System consists of a large number of health care facilities throughout North Texas. Its flagship hospital, Methodist Dallas Hospital located in Oak Cliff, has been one of the largest hospitals in Dallas since 1927.

Ron has an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and, earned a law degree from George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. Ron and his wife Eileen have been married for 41 years and have one son, Alan, who is an architect in Boston.
