The
main purpose of OnBoarding is to welcome New Hires in to the Southwest Family.
OnBoarding works with New Hires from the time they are selected until the end
of their first year. OnBoarding introduced their newest tool--the OnBoarding
Online Orientation in September. This interactive program will be made available
to New Hires beginning the day they accept a position until 30 days after their
first day of employment. A year in the making, the orientation was designed
with Employee individuality in mind. Southwest's workforce is comprised of
four generations--each with their own personalities and preferences regarding
how they receive information. OnBoarding's goal was to meet these generational
differences by creating an interactive learning tool that is informative, FUN,
and easy for everyone to use.
